Open Exchange

Open Exchange Overview
WatchGameFilm.com provides a simple and open way of exchanging film with opponents who may be using a different film management system such as Hudl.  We see many teams use Open Exchange when they get to the playoffs and are trading film with teams they normally do not know.  Open Exchange allows a coach to give another coach access to a film without requiring that coach to log on or use WatchGameFilm.com.  At the same time, Open Exchange allows a coach to give another coach access to upload their film to his or her team so that they can properly receive game film from the coach who is outside of WatchGameFilm.com.  Please contact us if you need assistance in completing an Open Exchange with another coach outside of WatchGameFilm.com.

The Open Exchange method is a two step process that requires you to email two URLs (Download Film and Upload Film) to your Opponent.

Send Film to Opponent

Follow these instructions to give your opponent access to the film you provided without giving them team login access to other film:

  1. Select Film List from the WatchGameFilm Dashboard
  2. Select the Film from the Film List that you want them to download
  3. Click on the Download Entire Film icon on the video player open up the Download Film page
  4. Copy the Web Browser URL in the Download Film page and email it to your opponent
  5. [URL example]

Your opponent will then be able to use the link you provided to access the download page and save the film to their device. They will not have access to your team film or any other part of the system.

Receive Film from Opponent

Follow these instructions to receive film from your Opponent without giving them team login access to other film:

  1. Select Film List from the WatchGameFilm Dashboard
  2. Click on New Film and give it a name of the film you are receiving from your opponent
  3. Continue by clicking the Create Film button to open up the Upload Film page
  4. Copy the Web Browser URL in the Upload Film and send it to your opponent
  5. [URL example]

[Upload image]

Your opponent will then be able to use the link you provided to access the upload page and upload their video clips to your team.  They will not have access to your team film or any other part of the system.
